The recent nuclear accident in Fukushima, Japan, sounded a wake-up call to the planned nuclear power industry in China. The reporter saw at the exhibition that many people were shaking their heads in front of the booth. Some exhibitors displayed a number of high-tech projects and nuclear power plant construction plans as models, attracting a large number of visitors to visit. Although this exhibition happened to be held shortly after the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, from the warm atmosphere of the scene, the popularity of this exhibition is still high, and the overall prospects of the nuclear power industry are still worth the wait.

After the Fukushima nuclear power accident in Japan, on the one hand, China suspended the approval of nuclear power projects and, on the one hand, comprehensively reviewed the nuclear power plants under construction. Some experts believe that China's nuclear power development plan is bound to slow down in front of this nuclear crisis. However, in the long run, the nuclear crisis in Japan will not affect the development trend of China's nuclear power. Zhang Huazhu, chairman of the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association, pointed out that during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, China will have about 30 nuclear power units put into operation. The total installed nuclear power capacity in China will exceed 40 million kilowatts, and the annual generation of nuclear power will reach 3,200. At 100 million kWh, nuclear power will account for 2.2% of primary energy consumption.

The reporter learned that in order to ensure the safety of nuclear power, China will take various measures to promote the safety of nuclear power, including plans to establish the "Atomic Energy Law" and promote technological improvement and management innovation. According to reports, the current "Atomic Energy Law" has been included in the State Council's legislative work plan for 2011. The China Nuclear Energy Industry Association will be responsible for the drafting of legal texts and drafting instructions under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of National Defense Industry and Technology.

At the exhibition, a staff member surnamed Yang of the China Nuclear Energy Association revealed to reporters that recently, the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association will organize a national large-scale nuclear power safety promotion under the leadership of the National Energy Administration and the National Nuclear Safety Administration.
