Nazhijie U5SUV, Dongfeng Yulongna Zhijie official website officially released the first wave of fixed photo, with a young look in October officially

At the Shanghai Auto Show back in April 2017, the Luxgen U5 SUV was still showcased as a concept car, capturing attention with its futuristic design. Fast forward a few months, and the first batch of official photos has finally been unveiled on the China Dongfeng Yulong Nazhijie official website. It's anticipated that the U5 SUV will make its official debut at the Chengdu Motor Show towards the end of August, with plans for an official launch in China by October. The Luxgen U5 SUV, now officially named, is designed to cater to the current market trends by offering a youthful and modern appeal. This compact crossover SUV draws inspiration from the U6 series, essentially being a downsized version of it. According to announcements from Dongfeng Yulong Nazhijie, the U5 SUV measures 4395x1763x1594mm with a wheelbase of 2620mm. Under the hood, the U5 SUV is expected to share the same 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine as the S3, though with some enhancements. The Chinese version boasts a maximum power output of 91kW (equivalent to 123.76 ps or approximately 122 hp) and a peak torque of 153Nm (about 15.6 kgm), which is slightly higher than the S3’s performance. However, the exact specifications for the Taiwanese market will be disclosed by the manufacturer at a later date. The transmission system is paired with a CVT setup, ensuring smooth gear changes and optimal fuel efficiency. Alongside these mechanical features, the interior of the U5 SUV is equally impressive. Leather seats are standard, and the cabin is equipped with a large 12-inch touchscreen interface. This sophisticated infotainment system is rumored to feature an updated multi-functional information system with voice command capabilities. Additionally, users will be able to utilize an app to remotely control functions like starting or stopping the vehicle, along with advanced features such as a 360-degree panoramic view and what's termed as "transparent chassis" technology. These innovations aim to provide comprehensive external imaging assistance, including an automatic parking system, making the U5 SUV one of the most technologically advanced models within the Luxgen lineup. To be honest, given the current craze for smaller SUVs, expectations were high when Luxgen initially hinted at launching the U5 around the same time as the S3 in 2016. Back then, competitors like the Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR were yet to hit the market, giving Luxgen a potential head start. While the U5 SUV is arriving slightly later, it remains to be seen whether this delay will affect its ability to capitalize on the growing trend. The coming months will reveal how well this model performs against established rivals in the compact SUV segment. Attached are some official images showcasing the sleek design and cutting-edge tech incorporated into the U5 SUV, highlighting its promise as a contender in the competitive SUV market.
