Sharp Introduces 104LM/W Energy-Saving Straight LED Lamp

Sharp will launch on June 29 a straight-tube LED lamp that can replace fluorescent light fixtures with top-notch energy-saving performance. It will be used as an alternative to FL40 fluorescent tubes that are mainly used for business purposes such as offices, commercial facilities and factories. The new product uses the company's self-developed heat dissipation technology and light-emitting technology to improve energy-saving performance and extend its life to 60,000 hours. A total of four light source colors are available for indirect lighting.

The upcoming-to-market, straight-through LED lamps incorporate LED technology that uses the latest technology to achieve a brightness of 104 lumens per watt (Lm), 4 lumens higher than the original product, and the industry's highest level of luminous efficiency. Even if it is used for 60,000 hours, its brightness is hardly reduced, and the beam (brightness) maintenance rate reaches about 95%. With 40,000 hours of original LED lighting, after 40,000 hours of use, the beam maintenance rate will drop to about 70%.

The light source is available in four types: white, white, warm white, and light bulb. Not only limited to brightness, Sharp will also offer new business lighting options that are differentiated based on usage, such as the use of white and white as basic lighting and warm white and light bulb colors as indirect lighting. In addition, by simplifying the internal structure of the bulb, reducing the diameter, and reducing the size of the lamp holder, the cost is reduced. The new product is priced at 10,395 yen, which is about 76% of the original product.

When used, it is necessary to use a separately-sold straight-tube type LED lamp special device. When setting, it can be selected from the four levels of brightness, and the initial luminance redundancy can be reduced by using the initial illumination compensation and dimming function. The lamp power is 25W. Compared with the FL40 type fluorescent tube, in addition to reducing power consumption, it can also be differentiated by providing a variety of light source colors. The company plans to sell for business use that requires no power-savings, and a total of 30,000 units of four models will be scheduled.
