LA Live The Nokia Club is a music hall that seats approximately 2,000 seats in LA Live, adjacent to the Staples Center. Customer Anshutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is the owner and operator of several large entertainment/sports facilities. The client asked Gensler to provide a stylish and dynamic design for the project, making it an entertainment hub for the city of Los Angeles and the region.
The interior of the building almost eliminates all the seemingly uncontrollable, monotonous and natural light, and uses the lighting design to expand the space when the light is almost closed. Here, the role of light is not limited to illumination, but more importantly, it is to shape the space and define the space. Therefore, the space is separated from its materiality to a certain extent and enters the position of the spiritual level. This kind of spiritual level of space can easily resonate with people's emotions, which in turn drives and stimulates the release of people's emotions. Space is not only a place for people to communicate, but to guide people to communicate and create a passionate and dynamic place for people's communication.
Communication always involves the definition of identity and place. The Nokia Club is no exception. However, the difference is that there is a stage space with clear identity and field definition and a well-defined bar space. The beauty of the stage space itself provides a variety of possibilities for communication. It makes communication in entertainment, sometimes it is subtle and sometimes subtle. There is always a division of the field between the stage and the stage. In the bar space, the field changes. Obscured, communication becomes more approachable. The soft lighting and the simple edge line of the bar outline the boundaries of this relaxed space. What people have to do is to indulge in it and speak freely.
