Microsoft revealed at Paris Game Week that *Jedi Survivor* (formerly known as *PUBG: New State*) will launch on Xbox One as a preview on December 12. However, the Xbox version will temporarily only support a first-person perspective, which is a notable difference from the PC version.
The Xbox release includes features like HDR support and the ability to climb over obstacles, but it currently lacks the desert map. Additionally, the game will run in 4K resolution on Xbox Series X|S. The developers explained that the desert map is still under testing on PC, so it won’t be included in the Xbox preview. They also mentioned that cross-platform play isn’t planned for now, citing fairness concerns.
Meanwhile, the PC version is expected to offer a full pre-release experience early next month, featuring all the content, including climbing mechanics and the desert map. The official 1.0 release will follow later. The PUBG team admitted that if they had been more generous with the new “climb†feature for the Xbox version, they might have launched earlier for Xbox players.
Due to the tight development schedule and frequent updates, the Xbox version is being released as an Xbox Game Preview. As part of this, the game is priced at $29.99, matching the price of the PC pre-release version (though regional pricing may vary). The developers are clearly asking for player feedback and support during this testing phase.
Some PlayStation fans have been waiting a long time to see the game on Xbox, and based on the tone of the developers, it seems the Xbox platform will be the primary home for the game for at least the next six months.
