AI promotes face recognition technology to identify 2 billion people in seconds!

With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, face recognition technology has become a powerful tool in modern society. Initially introduced for security purposes, this innovative technology is now being widely used to track down criminals, with impressive results even in its early stages of implementation.

In a world where digital innovation is shaping everyday life, AI-powered facial recognition systems are capable of identifying over 2 billion people in just seconds. This was once a concept seen only in science fiction, such as the movie *Minority Report*, but it's becoming a reality today. According to a report from the British *Daily Star* on December 12, Shanghai's AI algorithms have been integrated with millions of surveillance cameras, allowing instant facial recognition. This technology is not only revolutionizing crime detection but also redefining how we interact with public infrastructure. "The machines can find you among 2 billion people in just seconds," said Zhu Yi, CEO and co-founder of Intuo Technology. "This would have seemed impossible three years ago." The company’s “Big Eye Portrait” platform successfully identified a wanted criminal on the first day of its deployment in the Shanghai Metro. In the following weeks, it helped arrest over 567 suspects within the subway system. Zhu explained, "Shanghai has a population of around 24 million people. Managing security in such a large city is a major challenge for both the government and the police. Without advanced technology, it would be nearly impossible." He added, "Processing all the video footage manually to find specific individuals would take an enormous amount of time and resources. But AI makes it possible to do this efficiently using existing infrastructure." Looking ahead, Zhu believes the potential of this technology goes far beyond law enforcement. "In the future, face recognition could replace the need for bank cards at ATMs or even streamline customs processes at airports." As AI continues to evolve, its impact on daily life will only grow, making our cities safer, more efficient, and more connected than ever before.
