According to recent foreign media reports, the long-anticipated showdown between two of the world's most famous combat robots has finally taken shape after nearly two years of preparation. It all started when Suidobashi Heavy Industries, a Japanese company, accepted a challenge from the American firm MegaBots in a high-profile robotic battle. Now, both teams have officially confirmed that the competition will take place on October 17th in the United States (October 18th in Beijing time), marking a major moment for robotics enthusiasts around the globe. The event will be streamed live on Twitch, allowing fans worldwide to watch the action as it happens. After the live broadcast, recorded videos will also be uploaded to YouTube and Facebook, ensuring that even those who miss the live stream can still catch the excitement. MegaBots has unveiled its entry, the "EaglePrime," a massive 4.8-meter-tall robot weighing in at 12 tons. On the opposing side, Suidobashi Heavy Industries' Kuratas—another impressive machine standing at 4 meters tall and weighing 6.5 tons—will make its return to the battlefield. Kuratas first made its debut in 2012, initially designed as a four-wheeled, remotely operated robot. It was controlled using a "master-slave system," allowing users to control the robot from anywhere with a 3G connection. Originally, the contest was planned to involve explosive artillery fire, but Suidobashi requested a shift to direct combat. In response, MegaBots upgraded the robot with additional armor, enhanced firepower, and improved power systems to better suit the new format. This battle is more than just a spectacle—it's a milestone in the evolution of real-world robotics, showcasing the potential of human-machine collaboration and the growing interest in large-scale robotic competitions. Fans are eagerly waiting for the big day, hoping to witness history in the making.
