Number Says Trip 2017: Wuzhen Xizhe's Most Popular Scenic Spot of the Year

As the year comes to a close, it's natural to reflect on where we've traveled and what sights we've seen along the way. Recently, Gaode Maps launched its "Say Shu Travel 2017" data report, offering users a chance to revisit their travel experiences from the past year. Among the most discussed travel topics on Sina Weibo, "traffic" emerged as the top keyword of 2017, followed closely by "subway" and "traffic police." Other popular terms included drivers, buses, taxis, shared bicycles, high-speed rail, planes, and even high-speed vehicles. These keywords highlight how transportation has become an essential part of our daily lives and travel routines. In terms of city preferences, navigation tools were most frequently used in Chengdu, with Beijing and Shanghai following closely behind. When it comes to shared bicycles, Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai topped the list, while cities like Chengdu, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Xi'an also made the top ten. This reflects the growing trend of eco-friendly and convenient urban mobility. Highways, bridges, and tunnels were among the most searched routes in 2017. With the expansion of the highway network, these roads have become key parts of long-distance travel. The G15 Shenhai Expressway was the busiest highway of the year, while the Humen Bridge in Dongguan and the Tigerback Tunnel in Shenzhen ranked among the most traveled bridges and tunnels. When it comes to tourism, Wuzhen Xizhe Scenic Area in Jiaxing was the most visited destination, showing the continued appeal of traditional southern Chinese water towns. Meanwhile, railway stations such as Shenzhen North, Guangzhou South, and Beijing West were the most frequently visited by travelers, highlighting the importance of train travel in China. Airports also played a major role in 2017, with Beijing Capital, Guangzhou Baiyun, and Chengdu Shuangliu ranking as the busiest. Cities like Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, and Xi'an also made the top ten, reflecting the increasing demand for air travel. The release of the "Say Shu Travel 2017" data inventory not only allowed users to look back on their journeys but also helped them plan more effectively for future trips. As we move into 2018, these insights offer valuable guidance for those looking to explore new places and make the most of their travel experiences. Whether it's through highways, trains, or shared bikes, the way we travel continues to evolve, and so does our understanding of the world around us.
