LanTIq has announced the official launch of the LTE Broadband Router joint reference design platform jointly developed with Intel to provide data transfer rates of up to 300Mbps through the adoption of Intel's latest Cat6-enabled LTE platform.
This co-developed reference design platform combines the Intel® XMMTM 7260 LTE communications platform with LanTIq's GRX330 communications processor to fully meet the growing market demand for fixed-point 4G/LTE broadband services. Thanks to its unique architecture, this joint reference design enables customers to deliver sophisticated and market-leading broadband gateways and routers with high LTE throughput with low CPU load.
This co-developed reference design platform combines the Intel® XMMTM 7260 LTE communications platform with LanTIq's GRX330 communications processor to deliver data rates up to 300 Mbps.
Key features of the new fixed-point LTE reference design:
· An Intel-based M.2 module based on the Intel XMM 7260 platform, offering LTE-Advanced features including carrier aggregaTIon at speeds up to 40MHz and up to 23 in one SKU CA combination, and the rate of Cat6 (300 Mbps theoretical peak downlink rate).
· Intel XMM 7260 also provides global communication capabilities and supports more than 30 3GPP bands (supporting 21 bands simultaneously in the same SKU) and global network standards (LTE FDD/TDD, WCDMA/HSPA+, TD-SCDMA/TD- HSPA/EDGE).
The Lantiq GRX330 communications processor provides a complete Gigabit Ethernet router design with a dedicated acceleration engine to maximize Wi-Fi throughput while preserving CPU resources for other network and application tasks.
· This co-developed broadband gateway reference design solution delivers optimized system performance with throughputs of up to 300Mbps from WAN to LAN.
