Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center and Guangdong Emerging Industry Strategic Development Research Institute released the “Guangdong Province LED Industry Operation Monitoring Report for the 2nd Quarter of 2014†in Guangzhou on the 6th. The report disclosed the above information. The report also revealed that in the first half of this year, the total output value of LED industry in Guangdong Province reached 154.546 billion yuan, an increase of 23.47%.
Since Guangdong started the LED lighting demonstration project in the country in 2008, Guangdong has promoted the application of 1.3 million LED street lamps, more than 2 million indoor LED lighting products, more than 30,000 kilometers of demonstration road sections, and an overall energy saving of 55%. Experience has been accumulated in chemical, standardized production and application. Since the beginning of this year, the scale of Guangdong's LED industry has continued to expand, with an output value of 154.546 billion yuan in the first half of the year.
As of the second quarter of 2014, from the perspective of LED patent licensing in various cities in Guangdong, Shenzhen ranked first in the province in terms of invention patents (2,114) and new patents (10,944). Zhongshan City ranked first in the province with a patent for design patents (12423).
