These seemingly insignificant inconveniences may threaten the lives of patients without a little attention. Relevant data show that the number of deaths per year in China has reached 390,000.
Recently, I was exposed to an IoT university project that is positioned in infusion monitoring: smart bit by bit. Intelligent drip is the university student incubator project of Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications. The hardware mainly consists of two parts: the drip speed monitoring device and the physical monitoring wristband. In addition to the internal monitoring and algorithms, the software also includes the software system for remote monitoring based on the infusion data and the use of cloud data.
Project instructor Yan Hongbo said that the original intention of doing smart dripping comes from the experience of the infusion of the students and the students. The patients will have various incomplete controllable symptoms during the infusion process, and the manual care will be time-consuming and labor-intensive. Negligence can endanger the lives of patients. In the application of the intelligent drip, the user only needs to install the device with the drip speed set on the dropper. The card slot in the upper part of the device monitors the drip rate in real time through the embedded sensor, and the lower part uses the clamping drive device. The drip rate is automatically adjusted to form an algorithmic closed loop. During the infusion process, the patient can wear a smart bracelet for physical signs monitoring, and expand a variety of vitality detection sensors through the smart bracelet and the outside. Real-time monitoring of heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, blood oxygen concentration, respiratory rate and other vital signs information, and real-time transmission to the infusion device via Bluetooth. If there is an abnormal situation of abnormal drip rate and abnormal patient signs, the device will alarm and automatically shut down. When the liquid is almost finished, the device will give a reminder of the remaining amount, and the alarm will be automatically turned off after the infusion is completed.
In addition to the hardware application, the project leader Shi Xinyu introduced that the application of the intelligent software system is also under development. On the one hand, has developed a WAP terminal and software, the doctors and nurses can remotely monitor patient data during the infusion, signs data and alarm information, timely detection of problems on the computer, to achieve the overall management, saving labor costs; another In terms of intelligence, the infusion data will be uploaded to the cloud, and the use of big data guidance value is constantly being explored.

Intelligent drip has been established since 2015, and has now obtained an emerging application patent for infusion monitoring.
