The "Ceramic Metal Halide Lamp High-efficiency Illumination Energy-saving Technology Application Promotion Association" sponsored by the Beijing Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Center was recently held in Haining, Zhejiang Province. More than 160 people from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, National Energy Conservation Center, and China Lighting Association attended the meeting.

According to Zhang Hailu, honorary director of the Shanghai Institute of Illumination, compared with LED street lamps, ceramic metal halide lamps have the advantages of good color rendering, high comfort, high luminous efficiency, good economy, and easy replacement. This kind of lamp combines the advantages of high pressure sodium lamp and quartz metal halide lamp. It has high luminous efficiency, good color rendering, long service life, good light color consistency, and has broad application prospects in road lighting.

Professor Ding Chang, chief technical expert of the Institute of Electric Light Sources of Fudan University and chief technical expert of Zhejiang Xinguang Lighting Co., Ltd. believes that China's ceramic metal halide lamp manufacturing technology has reached the international level. He said that the advantages of the use of ceramic metal halide lamps in urban road lighting are high color rendering index, stable light color, transparent and comfortable, energy saving and long life.

According to Zhu Dingchang, at present, ceramic metal halide lamps have begun to be used in street lights in Tianjin, Haining, Zhejiang Province, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and Yichang City, Hubei Province. The quality of road lighting has been improved, and energy-saving benefits have been apparent.
