Three-year goal of the first phase

"Three S" helps network intelligence

According to his explanation, network intelligence is no longer a new concept. The application of SON (network self-organization, self-optimization, self-configuration, etc.) is still in its infancy, but it represents the future development direction of the network. The purpose of SDN (Software Defined Network) is to achieve flexible dynamic configuration and virtualization of the network and energy saving. The industry has also invested a lot of research on how this technology can be better applied to wireless networks, and believes that this technology will be completely Change the existing network architecture. SDR based on software radio technology "is expected to be applied farther and involves ICT convergence."

Although there is no clear definition of 5G technology, many countries in the world have begun to accelerate research and development in this area. The EU launched the "METIS" project for 5G at the end of last year, with participation from Huawei and other Chinese companies. The 863 project launched in China this year also invited some European companies to participate.

Professor You Xiaohu said that on the basis of basic research on 863 major projects in the country, the 5G Promotion Group will also establish a 5G technology innovation alliance to promote 5G research through more international cooperation.
