On December 10th, the "Development and Application of Precision Reducer High-precision Comprehensive Performance Testing Instrument" project officially kicked off at Tianjin Baodi Precision Industry Group in Baodi District, Tianjin. At the launch meeting, several key teams were formed, including a supervision team, a general expert group, a project overall group, a technical expert group, a user committee, and a project management office. These groups were established to ensure the smooth progress of the national key scientific equipment development project. Letters of appointment were issued to the relevant personnel, signaling the official start of the initiative. Professor Zhu Zurong, the project leader, presented a comprehensive implementation plan, which was reviewed and approved by the “two groups and one committee.” Experts from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, the Baodi District Science and Technology Commission, and other industry professionals were present. They conducted an on-site inspection of the company’s technological research and development capabilities, high-end precision equipment manufacturing standards, and quality management systems. It is well known that the core technology for precision reducer high-precision comprehensive performance testing has long been dominated by foreign countries. Domestic manufacturers in China face challenges such as weak technical foundations, short development cycles, and limited investment in basic theoretical research. As a result, existing testing equipment often suffers from poor structural rigidity, unstable accuracy, low detection efficiency, and limited intelligence. To address these issues, the project team will integrate fundamental theoretical research with practical application development. The initiative brings together top experts from two national key laboratories for precision instruments, the National Robotics Inspection Center, and leading Chinese manufacturers of precision reducers. Together, they aim to develop advanced testing instruments and breakthrough technologies for high-precision performance evaluation of precision reducers. The successful implementation of this project is expected to break the foreign monopoly, elevate the overall technical level of China’s precision reducers, and overcome critical bottlenecks in the development of industrial robots. This effort holds significant practical value for the advancement of China’s high-tech manufacturing sector.
