Tacheng Power Company Transforms 110 kV Circuit Breaker

On November 10th, with the closing and transmission of 1125 hexafluoride sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers on the 110 kV Dongji line, the 110 kV circuit breaker-free oil-replacement transformation project of Xinjiang Tacheng Power Grid was successfully completed.

Tacheng Power Grid generally uses oil circuit breakers in 110 kV substations put into operation before 2005, and the service period is approaching the overhaul cycle. Due to the frequent operation, the mechanical wear of the oil circuit breakers is accelerated, and the aging of the material, the long running time, and various types of defects are exposed. It is imperative that the 110 kilovolt oil circuit breakers be transformed.

According to the technical renovation plan, Tacheng Power Company will have to change all of the last 11 110 kV oil circuit breakers on the entire network this year. SF6 circuit breaker has small size, light weight, good breaking performance, less maintenance work, stable operation, excellent arc extinguishing and insulation performance.
