IDC: Corporate spending plummets, PC market shrinks

International report on April 19 According to the IDC research survey, enterprises were worried about the increase in costs and the sluggish demand of consumers, which in turn caused a decrease of 3.2% in personal computer (PC) shipments in the first quarter of 2011.

Prior to this, IDC’s estimate for the PC market was a 1.5% increase in shipments. This forecast has already reflected some warnings, but with the rise in oil prices and commodity prices, and the earthquake and tsunami that have delayed the growth of Japanese companies, the situation has further deteriorated. In other words, the company focused only on the replacement of necessary products, but at this time, it chose to suspend purchases for the part of the personal computer.

IDC pointed out that the rise and fall of the personal computer market can be explained by the power of overall economic changes, but the real problem is still that personal computer manufacturers must think more seriously, how to provide an engaging user experience, and attract more companies willing to increase computer procurement expenditure. According to IDC data, Lenovo's performance is dazzling; in this area, except for Toshiba, the status of other manufacturers is not satisfactory.
