GIGABYTE Acer competitive fierce MSI Yingtai expressed great pressure

According to information released by GIGABYTE, the company's motherboard shipments reached 155-1.6 million units in July, and graphics card shipments reached 253-320,000 units, with a monthly increase rate of 10-20%. Gigabyte’s total revenue for the month was NT$3,762 million (US$130 million), which was 3.86% higher than June but 9.5% lower than the same period of last year. Total revenue from January to July was NT$26,576 million, a decrease of 3.65 from the same period of last year. %.

Due to certain problems with Gigabyte's internal restructuring, the company's motherboard shipments in the first half of the year were lower than expected, and the completion of the 2011 full-year shipment target of 19 million units will also encounter difficulties. The final figure may be 1750-1800 million pieces.

In the mainland market, Gigabyte's motherboard shipments in the second quarter were 1.3 million, of which the lowest in June was only 350,000; and Gigabyte’s main competitor ASUS sold 1.9 million motherboards in the second quarter. However, according to industry sources, Gigabyte’s sales momentum picked up significantly in July, with 650,000 tablets shipped behind Asustek’s 800,000 tablets.

Sources also pointed out that Gigabyte and Asustek have begun to compete in all aspects of technology and product accessories, and at the same time launch price wars to capture more market share. However, the overall demand for the domestic mainboard market is not as strong as it might have been. Therefore, the fierce competition of the two giants in the PC motherboard industry has already put a lot of pressure on the relatively small-scale MSI and Biostar.

Looking forward to the third quarter, Gigabyte expects shipment growth to reach 15%, and the reverse growth rate is not as good as Asustek in the second quarter.
